Shift: Day shift (8am - 4pm)

The Maintenance Clerk position reports directly to the Plant Engineer.

What you will be doing:

  • Receive, store, and issue items or parts in all Parts Rooms.
  • Maintaining stockroom and sustaining 5S in all Parts Rooms.
  • Supplying all Parts Rooms with inventory accuracy as required.
  • Responsible for receiving all incoming packages and shipping documents into CMMS MVP Plant, ensuring all information is present and accurate. Receive merchandise, verify quantity, and place approved merchandise into the appropriate place in the inventory parts room after labeling. Match all POs with the packaging list and file. The position leads interfaces with internal team members to provide an accurate manner of incoming requested packages.
  • Accountable for all management and functions of the department inventory and Parts Rooms with accuracy.
  • 5S methodology results in a safe, clean, uncluttered, and well-organized workplace.
  • Following and completing the Cycle Count schedule to confirm physical inventory counts match the department inventory records.
  • This position strives to support the department team members with the proper materials and parts for production, repair, and maintenance functions, including the preparation of SOPs related to daily tasks.
  • Reliable for assisting the Accounting Department with inquiries and tasks related to inventory.
  • Report all Food Safety violations to management.
  • Available to work on off shifts, weekends, and overtime depending on business and department need.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in Sonoco's Performance System (SPS) activities as required - 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc.
  • Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are required and expected for job performance.

  • Ability to multi-task and work with multiple deadlines
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
