Summary
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to the safe assembly, distribution and service of food for Hospital patients, visitors and staff.

Essential Functions
-Attends department meetings, monthly in-services, training classes, etc as assigned.

-Anticipates and meets customer needs; takes appropriate steps to rectify issues.

-Maintains cleanliness of work areas.

-Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of department equipment.

-Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude.

-Adheres to all HACCP standards.

-Alerts supervisor to any concerns, discrepancies, product shortages, etc.

-Actively supports and upholds department goals to maintain or improve operations and customer satisfaction.

-Works in various tray line, cafeteria and kitchen positions. Sets up and stocks food station for meal service. Assembles patient trays and delivers trays from patient rooms.

-Cleans station, equipment, and floors at the end of each meal.

-Position may include operating dish machine, trash compactor, mopping floors.

-Prepares additional food items for patient tray line.

-Regularly works on sanitation projects assigned by manager.

-Assists with training of new employees as well as cross training of fellow employees.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

- Must be able to read menu items in English (exception is the pot-washer position).
- Must be able to communicate in English (exception is the pot-washer position).
- Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Work requires ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies.
