Kamatics, a division of Kaman, is looking for a Contracts Export and Compliance Specialist to join our team and oversee all contracts and export compliance activity. The Contracts Export and Compliance Specialist guides and directs the negotiation of contracts through communication with customers and internal personnel. Ensures contract compliance and performance to specifications. Performs export controls and contract activities to meet company objectives, policies, and requirements. Ensures that all activities comply with State, Federal and International regulations.

Responsibilities:



  • Serve as the primary resource, provide oversight/guidance, and identify actions or corrective actions on activities associated with:


    • Terms and Conditions including modifications and amendments.
    • Compliance with State, Federal and International regulations.
    • Import, Export and trade compliance.
    • Misc. other contracts and compliance topics.


  • Responsible for identifying non-negotiable items prior to full contract review and provide to management for decision making.
  • If top non-negotiable items are acceptable identify concerns, liability, and risk management issues to present to management for approval.
  • Oversee the closeout of completed contracts with customers to ensure that the interests of the company are satisfied and ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
  • Evaluate contract performance to determine the necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts and compliance to contractual obligations.
  • Maintain open and effective communication to ensure timely contract execution by all parties, both internal and external.
  • Maintain an overview of status and termination dates of contracts.
  • Create, implement, and manage Export and Trade Compliance Manual consisting of organizational directives, practices, processes, and work instructions.
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain Commerce and State Department export license applications and agreements to support international programs and for the export of product, technical data, and services.
  • Review Federal Register and identify and analyze proposed rulemaking notices and requirements that will impact Kamatics' business.
  • Support Quality Management with internal product audit processes.
  • All other tasks assigned by leader.



Requirements/Qualifications:

Education: BS degree in Business Management, or related.

Experience:



  • Minimum of 5 years in Contract Review in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years of export contract experience.
  • Aerospace industry environment is preferred.


Skills:





    • Proficient computer skills with advanced MS office and MS access knowledge.
    • Attention to detail with strong analytical thinking.
    • Strong time management skills with ability to organize, and plan.
    • Ability to understand contracts and create clear documentation as required.
    • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills driving results.
    • Ability to communicate (verbal, written and listening) with all levels in the organization and work collaboratively within a team.
    • Self-starter with strong negotiation skills.





Physical Requirements:



  • Frequent sitting at a computer workstation and grasping a mouse.
  • Frequent mental and visual attention
  • Occasional lifting: up to 25 lbs.
