Description

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Performs the troubleshooting and repairing of complex avionics/electrical components and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
In-depth knowledge with the operation and maintenance of various avionics/electrical support equipment and test benches.
Proficient in reading wiring schematics and drawings.
Coordinates with the customer, the OEM, management and work centers to resolve questions concerning avionics/electrical components, subsystems and support equipment modifications and repairs.
Provides technical assistance, guidance and instruction as required.
Estimates and accesses damage of avionics/electrical components/systems as related to crash and mishap damaged aircraft to include repair and/or replacement, man-hours, parts, components, and materials.
Assists in P&E report preparation.
Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
Responsible for adhering to Company Tool Control Program.
Documents work accomplished in current Maintenance Data System, such as NALCOMIS.
Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.
Must be willing and able to accommodate rotating shifts.
Must be able to travel 10% of the time.

Qualifications Standards:
Candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have three (3) years experience in aircraft avionics/electrical component and subsystems maintenance. To include avionics corrosion detection, treatment and prevention, performing maintenance on avionics/electrical components, support equipment, utilizing test benches, tools, blueprints, drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and normal safety requirements.
Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces aircraft avionics component school or other schools with equivalent curriculum. Must be able to obtain and maintain CAC card and required government clearance. Must have a valid driver's license.
As a government contractor, Vertex Aerospace requires all employees to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment in accordance with Executive Order 14042. Physical Demands:
This classification activity is usually accomplished in a hangar/shop/flight line environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment:
The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
