Progyny, a leader in family building and women's health, is seeking a Communications intern to play a pivotal role in driving the organization's messaging and brand visibility. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in supporting a range of integrated communications and media relations initiatives, while also offering the opportunity to learn from healthcare industry experts in the growing field of women's health and family building. In this fast paced and collaborative environment, you'll work alongside Progyny's Senior Communications Associate and the broader team on media relations strategy, engaging social media content planning, in-depth metrics reporting for LinkedIn and Instagram, and crucial industry trend analysis. You'll witness firsthand how strategic communications translates into tangible business value, solidifying Progyny's market leadership.

The program operates year-round, with a dedicated summer session starting in June for 8-10 weeks. Interns are expected to follow a hybrid schedule, working in-office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

What you'll do...

  • Pioneering the development and execution of a new brand ambassador program, fostering community engagement and expanding brand reach.

  • Curating and maintaining strategic media lists, ensuring effective outreach to targeted journalists and publications.

  • Conduct thorough research into potential media partners/influencers, including social media influencers

  • Leveraging industry-leading tools like Hootsuite and MuckRack to identify emerging reporters and gather crucial industry data, staying ahead of the curve.

  • Providing critical on-site support for key company events and initiatives, including Pride Month, contributing to seamless event execution and brand visibility.

  • Manage media scans, competitor tracking, and social media analysis to inform strategy

  • Documenting key discussions and action items from important meetings, ensuring clear communication and accountability.

  • Managing and organizing the company's video library, awards, and events tracker, identifying and pursuing new opportunities for recognition.

  • Ensuring the accuracy of all company communications through rigorous fact-checking.

About you...

  • A self-starter who is eager to roll-up your sleeves and pitch in.

  • Someone who can balance both following directions and thinking outside the box to bring new ideas.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) with strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to research Interest in contributing to strategic thinking and the development and execution of media plans

  • Able to work independently with clear guidance, leveraging cross-functional resources as needed

  • Adaptive, inquisitive, and a natural problem-solver, driven to deliver results and contribute meaningfully to team objectives

  • Interest in communications, media, social media and digital content development.

  • Interest in the healthcare or benefits industry

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $25.00/hour - $40.00/hour.
