PURPOSE

Manages sales, digital product sales, and sales support activities related to an assigned product or product line, delivering and service to maximize revenues and profitability, especially in relation to competitor products. Conducts comparative analysis against competitors and provides strategic planning of product direction and features.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  1. Product Line Management - Oversee the assigned product or product line to maximize financial performance in alignment with senior management goals. Monitor product performance against competitors and stay informed on industry trends and new product developments.




  1. Customer Engagement & Digital Integration - Strengthen customer relationships by working closely with Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs) to identify digital needs and showcase the value of digital tools.




  1. Digital Tools Expertise & Training - Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for digital tools within the area, providing training, seminars, and ongoing support to sales teams and customers.




  1. Driving Digital Adoption - Lead digital sales strategies and ensure successful adoption by tracking and achieving key adoption metrics.




  1. Customer Site Visits & Support - Visit job sites to engage with customers, initiate sales, and provide technical assistance and customer support.




  1. Strategic Planning & Performance Analysis - Develop short- and long-term strategies for the product line, including sales and profitability objectives, while continuously analyzing performance.




  1. Product Training & Presentations - Develop and deliver product presentations and training sessions for both the sales team and customers to enhance knowledge and engagement.




  1. Market Analysis & Competitive Strategy - Analyze consumer trends, channel dynamics, and competitive strategies to strengthen market positioning and maximize opportunities.




  1. Customer Satisfaction & Value-Added Sales - Drive a value-added sales process, manage complex proposals, and enhance customer satisfaction by coordinating with vendors and BFS business units to ensure a seamless customer experience.




  1. Ability to Travel Frequently - Must be able to travel frequently by car as required for the role, ensuring timely visits to various locations to support business needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor's degree in marketing or business management or related field and five (5) years product sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPETENCIES



  • Working knowledge of business-to-business selling
  • Advanced knowledge of products or product lines
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry
  • High level of self-motivation and work independently
  • Ability to think strategically, forecast and drive sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation, negotiating, and influencing skills
  • Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with other staff, management and vendors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program
  • Software knowledge and experience of BuilderTrend, HighARC, and/or Houzz a plus
