JOB SUMMARY Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a Training Specialist to oversee education and training initiatives, serving as the project manager for developing standard operating procedures, designing and facilitating onboarding sessions, and auditing training courses. This role will also support professional development by assisting with individualized learning plans. Additionally, the Training Specialist will lead New Employee Orientation for classified staff and manage the department's learning management system. Responsibilities include defining user roles, developing training courses, and ensuring accurate assignment and tracking of web-based training. The specialist may also collaborate with subject matter experts to identify knowledge gaps and implement targeted development programs. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Education, Personnel Management, or related field
- Experience
3 years of experience in development and use of training methods, techniques, and materials May consider additional years of related experience in lieu of degree.
JOB DUTIES
- Plans, organizes, administers, conducts, and coordinates in-service training and educational programs.
- Confers with management and line supervision to determine need and scope of training programs.
- Develops curriculum and lesson plans or other appropriate methods of presentation.
- Conducts training sessions, organizes lectures, and prepares training manuals and materials, visual aides such as slides and films, and other training implements.
- Maintains records of training activities, and evaluates applicability and effectiveness of programs.
- Recommends policies and procedures relating to training activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
