This position requires you to be in the office 3-4 days per week. The AVP of Pacific Life Investment (PLI) Finance will play a critical role in supporting the financial management and strategic planning of PLI. This position will be responsible for overseeing financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting ensuring alignment with PLI's financial goals and regulatory requirements. This position will manage a small team of finance individuals with potential for the team to grow as PLI grows. Additional Details:
- Establish PLI Finance: Build key partnerships within and outside PLI (ERM, Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, etc.), and set up new processes and team roles.
- Planning: Develop and manage the annual plan for PLI, including surplus assets. Coordinate macroeconomic factors and review business segment inputs.
- Budgeting and Expense Management: Lead the annual budget development, monitor expenses, and prepare financial forecasts. Implement cost control measures and present budget reports to senior management.
- Quarterly and Ad-Hoc Forecasting: Prepare and analyze quarterly financial forecasts, respond to ad hoc requests, and communicate insights to senior management.
- Management Reporting: Assist in quarterly board reporting and business reviews, and develop a spread analysis framework.
- Accounting Policy Liaison: Partner with accounting policy to update policies and serve as an intermediary with accounting teams.
- Performance Reporting: Produce management reports, implement performance management processes, and monitor risk-adjusted returns.
Required Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, math, or a related field is essential. A CPA, FSA or CFA is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Significant investment experience (accounting, valuation, transacting, asset classes, securitization, etc.)
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement financial strategies, analyze industry trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with senior management, external entities, and various departments.
- Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally with different departments and business lines such as accounting, treasury, ALM, risk management, capital management, and strategy.
- Project Management: Skills in managing large-scale projects, including finance transformation initiatives.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex financial data and provide recommendations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements and experience in preparing financial reports for external entities like rating agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage performance, and drive organizational goals.
- Change Management: Demonstrated readiness to embrace change and challenge the status quo as appropriate.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
