Aon is looking for a Vice President of Health Analytics and Solution Development to join the Commercial Analytics team

(Chicago, New York, Atlanta or proximity to an Aon location is required, strong virtual candidates may be considered)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative health client analytics solution leader focused on developing and growing emerging capabilities in Price Transparency, Network Analysis, Provider Cost & Quality, Value-Based Care to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of client-facing experience in health or benefits, health product development and health data & analytics capability development. Experience with evaluation of commercial provider networks, hospital and payer-posted transparency data, evaluation of tiered networks, provider cost and quality, emerging health plans, Medicare-based pricing, surgical networks and bundled episode pricing, high-performance networks and narrow-network health plans and price transparency is preferred.

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions developing and commercializing health analytics capabilities at Aon to enable better decisions for our clients. This role will lead development and commercialization workstreams supporting new and existing analytics solutions and serve as the national subject matter expert for practice-wide initiatives, client and prospect conversations.

What the day will look like

  • Serve as a leader for the development and commercialization of new analytics capabilities, maintaining or leading the development and implementation of new products and solutions
  • Serve as national subject matter expert for price transparency and provider/network evaluations using emerging transparency data. Lead delivery of client projects and pilot initiatives. Ensure high-quality and timely delivery that exceeds client expectations.
  • Business Development: Lead and support prospecting, go-to-market and client presentations on new capabilities and solutions. Showcase and present on analytics capabilities and market trends at both internal and external events.
  • Cross-functional and stakeholder collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, technology partners, legal, marketing and industry experts, to gather requirements for new analytics solutions. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analytics engineers, actuaries, clinical, pharmacy and care delivery consultants, to develop and maintain analytics solutions.
  • Innovation: Stay current on emerging trends and industry developments, key vendors and emerging vendors, propose new capabilities or suggestions to revamp existing capabilities to meet emerging client needs. Stay current on leading edge vendor and partner capabilities.
  • Iterative Development: Oversee the iterative development process, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews. Ensure the quality and reliability of new analytics solutions by defining acceptance criteria, conducting user acceptance testing, and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Engage with clients and Aon colleagues to gather feedback, demonstrate prototypes, and solicit input for future enhancements.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Economics, Actuarial Science or related field.
  • Graduate degree in related field or professional credentials are a plus (ex. MPH, MHA, FSA)
  • 10+ years of client-facing or related consulting experience, with a proven track record of innovation and leadership in the health and benefits space.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understand of US Health System and current and emerging payment models between Payers, Providers (Inpatient, Outpatient, Professional).
  • Background in evaluation of commercial provider networks, hospital and payer-posted transparency data, evaluation of tiered networks, provider cost and quality, emerging health plans, Medicare-based pricing, surgical networks and bundled episode pricing, high-performance networks and narrow-network health plans and price transparency is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading complex projects with various stakeholders
  • Understanding of market trends, client needs, and emerging vendors
  • Proven ability to mentor junior colleagues
  • Understanding of Agile project management a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 10-20% of time

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $170,000 to $210,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
