Position Description

We are looking for a skilled Database and Application Developer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining databases and applications to ensure optimal performance and data integrity. This role involves collaborating with various teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:


  • Creating database structures, defining data relationships, and optimizing database schema to meet application requirements.
  • Writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to manage data within the database.
  • Coding application logic to interact with the database, including data retrieval, insertion, and updates using appropriate programming languages.
  • Implementing data validation rules, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive information.
  • Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies to improve query execution speeds.
  • Design and build applications using various programming languages such as Java, SQL, JavaScript, C#, .NET. Develop ETL processes, design GUIs, and generate reports using tools like SSRS, PowerBI.
  • Collaborate with other developers, analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop and maintain BI solutions, including dashboards and reports, to visualize data insights.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and correlations in data to inform business strategies.



Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in database development and application programming.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, SQL.
  • Experience with web & system development frameworks (e.g., ASP.NET, C#).
  • Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, database design, and normalization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to synthesize complex and diverse information.
  • Ability to meet and exceed expectations in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, internal and external customers, operational groups, as well as outside parties.
