As the Communications Specialist for Customer Distribution Experience within Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS), you will execute communications for McKesson's largest business unit. Your responsibilities include informing all internal and external customers about potential supply chain and delivery disruptions. You will ensure consistent and timely communication across all customer segments and product categories within PSaS. Additionally, you will create effective communication strategies and messaging to support key business initiatives.

The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, capable of building collaborative relationships with various stakeholders and presenting recommendations to different leadership levels.

* This is a hybrid position. Candidate must reside in the Dallas / Fort Worth with the ability to occasionally work at our Fort Worth office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively communicate business continuity strategies and messaging as needed internally and to customers to inform them of potential supply chain and delivery disruptions. Interface with segment sales and marketing teams to ensure field sales teams and customer support are informed of actions taken to mitigate potential crisis impacts, including but not limited to weather, labor, public health, political issues, and technology.

  • Monitor weather and other disruptive events and develop communications for proactive customer messaging.

  • Regularly update internal and external customers on the status of distribution-related initiatives such as holiday schedules, new DC builds, courier changes, process changes, compliance requirements, and other events.

  • Respond and follow up reactively based on feedback.

  • This role is responsible for creating informative communications during normal business operations and crisis events. *During crisis events, working outside of regular business days and hours may be required.

  • Develop and implement communication strategies and plans for initiatives and projects supporting the business objectives, value proposition, narrative, and internal partners/stakeholders. Ability to synthesize information and data to create and disseminate timely messages using key communication platforms such as emails, presentations, videos, digital formats, print materials, internal social media platforms, and events. Work independently or with a team to recommend actions, schedule and plan projects, estimate costs when applicable, and manage projects to completion. Collaborate across CDx functional teams and business groups to effectively prioritize tasks.

  • Collaborate to develop and deliver content for various communication channels in a visually appealing manner, ensuring consistency with our brand and messaging voice. Design and create meticulously planned communications and presentations with attention to aesthetics, adhering to our brand guidelines. Facilitate and implement communication processes, including advising and training internal teams on how to enhance their communication skills.

  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company's and CDx's values and strategies, as well as keep up to date with relevant initiative and market developments.

  • Assist the CDx Communication and Marketing team with ad hoc priority communication requests as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in business, communications, marketing, journalism or related field, or equivalent, and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Experience in creating video and streaming content

  • Ability to synthesize detailed information to provide insights to stakeholders

  • Experience working with synchronous and asynchronous communication software such as Microsoft Office/365 with exceptional proficiency in PowerPoint, Publisher, Web & Video Conferencing, Mobile Device Management

  • Strong relationship building and strategic partnering skills with the ability to work across various levels of the organization

  • Outstanding judgment, an ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly organized self-starter that can works under limited direction

  • Verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate complex information in a consumable manner

  • Strong critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Detailed-oriented with strong project management skills

  • Copy writing for communication and marketing pieces across multiple mediums

Additional Skills:

  • Previous experience with crisis communications, supply chain, distribution or healthcare communication is preferred

  • Pharmacy/healthcare, and Distribution experience is a plus

  • Communicating with non-wired associates experience is a plus

  • Experience with SharePoint is a plus

Working Conditions:

  • We offer a hybrid work schedule, based in our Fort Worth, TX office.

  • The majority of our "nonessential onsite" employees will have the flexibility to predominantly work from home. With this increased flexibility around in-office presence, we want to maximize our time together and leverage the office as a destination. We will come to the office to meet intentionally for important events and activities, like onboarding and training, quarterly performance check-ins, staff meetings and team building, as well as brainstorming and strategy sessions.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
