Pharma/medical editing experience a MUST

Our global pharmaceutical client is seeking a seasonal freelance professional to join their in-house creative team to proof, edit, and fact check pharmaceutical/medical marketing, health education, and corporate materials for spelling, punctuation, grammar, format/style inconsistencies, sense and clarity using AMA. Like any regulated industry, it is imperative that before anything is released for consumer, healthcare professional or partner consumption, that it is error free and meets all FDA and government guidelines. Client prefers agency experience!

Job functions/responsibilities:



  • Fact check medical materials, including anatomy images and labels
  • Fact check annotated copy using provided references, ensuring acceptable sources are used
  • Edit and proofread copy for assigned and other brands as needed
  • Collaborate and communicate with Editorial Director and team members to maintain quality and meet goals
  • Prioritize and manage workload, meetings, and various tasks to ensure all deliverables are met with excellence; ability to handle multiple jobs and prioritize as needed
  • Create/maintain brand style guides and bibliographies in a timely manner
  • Understand and execute AMA style and varying editorial styles per brand needs


To be considered for this role one must come with the following experience:



  • Bachelor's degree3 to 5 years medical editing and fact checking experience in a pharma ad agency/medical education environment (agency experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a motivated, self-starting attitude
  • Ability to creatively adapt to changing deadlines, providing recommendations as needed
  • Knowledge of current AMA 11th Edition style guide and FDA guidelines governing pharmaceutical products/devices
  • Solid ability to use MS Office (including Outlook, Teams, and Word), Adobe Acrobat, and/or ProofHQ
