Responsibilities
Hartgrove Behavioral Health System consists of a 160-bed leading psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services for a diverse population of all ages. Hartgrove is a flagship behavioral health facility within Universal Health Services, Inc. and throughout Illinois. JOB SUMMARY: The Assustant Director covers for Director in his/her absence. Has supervisory responsibility during the assigned PM shift, which includes providing supervision to all Emergency Service staff within the department. Responsible for:

Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education: Masters degree required; Masters degree in Social Work, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Nursing degree preferred; or doctorate degree preferred. Experience: Seven (7) years or more of direct intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population in an inpatient setting required. Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience required. Licensure/Certification: LPC, LSW, LCPC, LCSW and/or RN license preferred Knowledge: Working knowledge of Illinois Confidentiality Act, Illinois Mental Health Code, EMTALA and ILPA process detailed understanding of psychiatric criteria for various levels of care. Thorough understanding of DSM-IV criteria. Computer training/experience, crisis intervention and risk assessment, customer service skills, leadership skills. Supervision Received: Director of Emergency Services or designee Supervision Exercised: Emergency Services Counselor Line of Promotion: Director of Emergency Services Working Conditions: Works in the Emergency Services area, the inpatient units and other areas of the Hospital. Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable disease and risks associated with managing psychiatric patients with the potential to lose control. General Hospital Environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching and stooping.
