DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Podiatrist, you will provide comprehensive podiatric treatment services to to patients at Torrance State Hospital. You will perform podiatry examinations for all new admissions, prescribe corrective treatment for foot ailments, and order prosthetic foot appliances, orthotics, and proper footwear. This roles requires effective communication skills to instruct staff on geriatric, diabetic, and peripheral vascular disease in regard to podiatry foot care. In addition, you will develop treatment management of chronic podiatry pathology, conduct monthly follow-ups on all diabetic patients, and complete comprehensive progress notes, orders, and consultations as required by hospital policy and governing regulations. - Part-time employment, 15 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from an approved school of podiatry.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a current license to practice podiatry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Podiatry.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
