In September, Sonoco announced it is performing a strategic review of the Thermoforming Flexible Packaging (TFP) business unit. In order to support a newly formed global packaging company with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion, we are seeking a Senior Area Controller to oversee the financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of the financial reporting within the designated geographic area. The Senior Area Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations within a designated area. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.. What you'll be doing: Oversee the financial operations of the area, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions. Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Identify and mitigate financial risks within the area. Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and efficiency. Communicate financial results and strategies to senior management and other stakeholders. Additional Responsibilities as Assigned. This position is in our Charlotte, NC or Hartsville, SC Office We'd love to hear from you if: Prefer Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead and develop a team; excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and provide financial insights to support business growth. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis. In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements. Compensation: The annual base salary range for this role is from $132,160 to $148,680, plus an annual target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
