Claremont, CA Job Posting Title: Safety Operations SpecialistJob Description: PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, the Safety Operations Specialistis a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and enhancing safety compliance and training programs, developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans, overseeing insurance programs, ensuring safe event planning and execution, and supervising the risk management intern program. This position supports the organization's commitment to minimizing risk, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and preparedness. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Occupational Safety, Emergency Management, Business Administration or a related field, or a combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job. Certificates and/or coursework in safety operations, emergency preparedness, hazard mitigation planning, emergency management, disaster resiliency, risk assessment, or related topics is preferred. 2 years of experience in risk management, safety compliance, or related fields, with progressive leadership responsibilities is preferred. LICENSES / CERTIFICATES: None. OTHER: HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS: This is a regular status, full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt position. The regular hours of this position are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Hours may vary due to the needs of the College or department. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours will be required to support department and campus needs. Salary range: $75,000-$86,000 annualized. The salary rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, andtraining. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervises student employees.
