The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $127,700.00 - $191,500.00

Job Description

The Quality Practices & Enablement Manager is an individual contributor role responsible for embedding quality practices across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by enabling teams through training, process improvement, and operational alignment. This role ensures adherence to quality standards by facilitating workshops, conducting audits, analyzing metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Manager collaborates with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security, and all other Ed Tech teams to drive adoption of best practices and improve overall quality maturity. This role focuses on hands-on execution, team support, and fostering a culture of quality excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers or coordinates delivery (e.g. train the trainer) of training programs, workshops, and documentation to improve team understanding and adherence to quality practices.
  • Collects and analyzes feedback on training effectiveness, refining enablement initiatives to meet team needs.
  • Identifies inefficiencies in workflows, recommend solutions, and drive adoption of process improvements.
  • Collaborates with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security and all other Ed Tech teams to ensure quality practices are consistently applied.
  • Conducts or participates in quality audits to assess adherence to organizational standards, identify gaps, and support corrective actions.
  • Establishes and manages feedback loops to monitor compliance and enable continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes product quality metrics (e.g., customer satisfaction, rework, adherence levels) to assess performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Ensures reporting dashboards are available to track progress and share quality performance updates with stakeholders by either creating and maintaining or coordinating with other data analytics teams.
  • Partners with stakeholders across teams to align on product quality objectives and remove barriers to success.
  • Communicates goals, insights, and recommendations clearly and effectively through written and verbal communication.
  • Manages multiple quality initiatives simultaneously, track progress, and ensure successful execution within established timelines.
  • Acts on retrospective feedback to refine processes and reduce rework or confusion in workflows.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs, workshops, and enablement resources to support team adoption of quality practices.
  • Skilled in facilitating retrospectives, feedback loops, and workshops to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Engineering, Product, Portfolio, Infrastructure and Security.
  • Highly developed communication skills to create clear, actionable documentation and effectively convey insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze quality metrics and provide data-driven insights to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple quality initiatives, track progress, and ensure successful execution.
  • Practical problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies, recommend solutions, and drive adherence to quality standards.
  • Understanding of quality audits, compliance, and corrective action planning to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Passion for fostering a culture of quality excellence and driving measurable improvements in quality outcomes.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and their application to quality workflows.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline).

Experience

  • 8 years of experience in quality management, process improvement, or a related role.
  • 4+ years of experience conducting quality audits, facilitating retrospectives, or managing operational workflows.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering training programs and supporting organizational enablement efforts.
  • Experience analyzing quality metrics and providing actionable recommendations for process improvement.

Experience in lieu of education

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Lean Six Sigma - Black Belt, ISTQB, Certified ScrumMaster, or SAFe.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and quality tools (e.g., Sonar, Jira, Playwright, LoadRunner).
  • Change Management certification (e.g. ProSci)
  • Advanced facilitation skills for retrospectives and feedback sessions.
  • Experience designing reporting dashboards using tools like Dynatrace, Tableau or Power BI.
  • General understanding of higher education technology applications (if applicable to the organization).

Position & Application Details
