THE JOB: The Lead Mutuel Clerk's primary responsibility is to assist guests in placing wagers on horse racing and sporting events from around the world. This role ensures all transactions and interactions are carried out in accordance with departmental policies, property practices, and procedures, while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining accuracy in all wagering activities. STARTING RATE:$19.50/hour + tips THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Assist the supervisor with race and sports book operations during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Oversee tickets written, cashed, voided, and wagers placed during the shift. Assist in verifying cash drawers, completing reports, rating customer activity, and monitoring for suspicious behavior in the race and sports book. Maintain and reconcile a cash bank, accepting payments and providing accurate change when necessary. Process and verify payments on winning tickets accurately and promptly. Perform writing and cashiering tasks in accordance with department policies and procedures. Ensure the accuracy of LED boards and guest informational sheets, providing up-to-date information to guests. Safeguard customer rewards and ensure adherence to established credit lines. Perform other job-related tasks as requested.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational experience required. Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. At least 1 year of experience in a Race and Sportsbook or a related casino area. Strong experience in managing cash transactions with accuracy and efficiency. Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to support smooth daily operations. Proficient in using computers and relevant software for handling wagers and payments.
