Information Analyst II - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA):

Serve as the primary analyst for the American Society of Hematology (ASH) project using experience with sickle cell disease research. Responsible for developing and managing the data pipeline that identifies CHOP's active/historical sickle cell patient cohort and identifies relevant clinical information for contribution to the ASH multi-institutional registry. Review research papers to stay current on the latest techniques regarding validating sickle cell cohorts and identifying various covariates for inclusion in our research datasets.

Other duties include: extract, transform, and load (ETL) clinical data from various healthcare systems, ensuring that data is efficiently converted into research-ready formats. Coordinate and optimize complex ETL processes for high-impact projects (e.g., Pediatric Learning Health System, The United States Immunodeficiency Network). Execute daily SQL queries and generate reports to provide real-time, actionable data for research recruitment and clinical trial management. Identify and resolve data quality issues through close collaboration with clinical and data management teams, ensuring high integrity and accuracy in research datasets. Utilize the OMOP Common Data Model for standardizing and harmonizing healthcare data from diverse sources, including Epic Clarity and the CDW database, across multiple healthcare systems. Coordinate ETL processes within multidisciplinary teams and advise on best practices for data security and patient confidentiality. Streamline data workflows by automating integration processes, contributing to enhanced efficiency and accuracy in research deliverables.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics or a closely related field and 3 years of experience, or alternatively a Master's degree in same and 1 year of experience. Experience must include performing healthcare informatics and clinical research data management, including extracting, manipulating, and analyzing clinical data from the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, conducting healthcare informatics focused on hematology projects, and utilizing SQL, Python, and R for data extraction and transformation, SAP Crystal Reports for generating detailed reports, and REDCap databases for importing and managing complex datasets.
