The Associate Director supports the Director of Alumni Affairs in developing, marketing, and implementing a program designed to strengthen the engagement of Cornell Law School (CLS) alumni and students. Key responsibilities include planning and executing domestic and international alumni events, collaborating and inspiring alumni volunteers, expanding opportunities for diverse and affinity groups to connect, as well as managing digital engagement strategies. The Associate Director will oversee initiatives for young graduates, including the graduating class gift campaign, the Cornell Law Young Professionals Network, the five-year reunion committee, and supports the Director of the Annual Fund with activities related to Giving Day, specifically focusing on student and young graduate strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and cultivate relationships with CLS alumni, students, faculty, staff, to inspire engagement.
  • Develop, plan, market and execute virtual and in-person events that are meaningful to the alumni, meeting alumni where they are.
  • Develop digital and virtual engagement strategies using platforms such as Zoom, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and other innovative methods to connect with alumni.
  • Identify and collaborate with graduating students to fundraise for their class campaign, partnering with the Law School's Annual Giving team to ensure its success. Additionally, work to maintain the graduating students' enthusiasm and encourage their continued involvement in the Cornell Law Young Professionals Network until their five-year reunion.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and independently, with responsibility for financial and non-financial outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in engaging busy professionals and fostering a service-oriented culture.
  • Strong organizational and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to unite and motivate committees towards achieving a shared goal.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree and three to five years relevant experience alumni affairs, public affairs, events management, communications, development, fundraising or equivalent combination.
