The University of Colorado College of Nursing is seeking a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) /Certified Midwife (CM) / Instructor / Senior Instructor / Assistant Professor in the Non-Tenure Clinical Practice Track (Open Rank) for a 1.0 FTE, benefits-eligible, position with its Center for Midwifery (CFM) faculty practice in Aurora, CO (on the Anschutz Medical Campus). This position is clinically based as a health care provider, and includes an instructor level, non-tenure clinical practice track appointment within the College of Nursing and is full scope including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well woman and gynecological care. Faculty Practice Description: The Center for Midwifery is a private practice model that works collaboratively within the department of OB/GYN. We offer women and families many services including individualized care, alternative labor/birth options, childbirth education, lactation services, mental health services, water birth and referrals to physician groups in other departments. The practice provides full-scope midwifery care to women at two locations with births occurring at the University of Colorado Hospital Birth Center. CFM believes that women benefit from personalized and comprehensive care that focuses on the patient while including the family in the plan of care. We serve women who desire an alternative labor and birth experience with water birth option. The nurse-midwife will be part of a midwifery service that has a long and successful history within the University of Colorado system. Supervision Received: Work is performed independently under the general direction and authority of the CFM Clinical Lead within the College of Nursing (CON) faculty practices, Director of Midwifery Services, and the Associate Dean for Community and Clinical Affairs. Supervision Exercised: No supervision exercised Examples of Work Performed:
- Provide full scope care to the gynecologic, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient
- Provide care in the outpatient clinic, OBED, and intrapartum unit
- Utilize limited obstetric ultrasound skills in the outpatient and inpatient setting
- Attend monthly practice meetings and participate in a minimum of one-practice and/or College of Nursing committees.
- Educate health care team students (APNs, medical students, residents) and actively participate in student evaluations
- Provide water birth option to low-risk women
- Participate in practice development, promotion and community outreach.
- Active participation in health plan contracts.
- Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Instructor:
- Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery
- Current AMCB certification
- Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State)
- Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
Senior Instructor:
- Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery
- Current AMCB certification
- A minimum of one year full scope practice providing antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well woman and gynecological care
- Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State)
- Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
Assistant Professor:
- Doctoral degree from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery
- Current AMCB certification
- A minimum of one year of full scope practice providing antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well woman and gynecological care
- Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State)
- Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current, active DEA Licensure
- Experienced in water birth and alternative labor/birth options
- Experience working in a high patient volume and/or high-acuity patient setting
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary clinical care teams
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Conditions of Employment:
- Must be willing and able to provide full scope contraceptive services and counseling on abortion services.
- Must be willing and able to obtain Colorado RN, APN, RxN licenses by date of hire.
- Must be willing and able to obtain current board certification as a CNM by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain current DEA license within 18 months of hire.
- Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain valid Colorado Medicaid Provider number by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to complete CAQH and all credentialing requirements prior to date of hire.
- Must be willing and able to obtain current BLS/CPR certification by date of hire.
- Must be willing and able to actively participate in health plan contracts.
- Must be willing and able to remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current.
- Must be willing and able to work in a normal patient care environment with some exposure to biological hazards and infectious diseases.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $95,683 - $105,252 annually at Instructor of Clinical Practice/CNM, $96,639 - $106,304 annually at Sr. Instructor of Clinical Practice /CNM $97,596 - $107,357 annually at Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice /CNM The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
