Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Intern at UL Research Institutes, based in our Evanston, Illinois, office.

UL Research Institutes is looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our dynamic Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team as a Sustainability Intern. As the intern, you will gain hands-on experience and exposure in environmental and social responsibility efforts, helping to drive meaningful change within our organization.

This role is based in our headquarters in Evanston office and is a great opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career in sustainability.

What you'll learn and achieve:

As the Sustainability Intern, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Conduct research on sustainability best practices, industry trends, and emerging regulations.

  • Support sustainability reporting by collecting and analyzing environmental and social impact data.

  • Assist in the development and execution of sustainability programs and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts.

  • Help create communication materials to promote sustainability awareness among employees and stakeholders.

  • Participate in sustainability-related meetings, workshops, and events.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.

  • Available to work full-time during the internship period.
