Position Purpose |
The
Communications Coordinator promotes the museum's brand to all audience groups and serves as the primary contact for the media. Drafts and executes Public Relations (PR) and marketing plans for exhibitions, programs, and museum announcements. Coordinates museum publications and the creation of signage and graphics. Provides website and social media support. |

* Bachelor's degree preferably in communications or art history.
* 3-4 years of experience in related field.
* Some communications experience in a related field.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Ability to set priorities and handle many projects simultaneously.
* Research and evaluation knowledge.
* Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
* Desktop publishing or design experience.
* Proficiency with computer applications for word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets.
* Ability to interact with media and members of the public in a professional manner.
* Knowledge of museum administration.
* Ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
* Ability to problem solve and think creatively.
* Demonstrates good decision-making and sound judgement.
* Strong commitment to a diverse working environment and to serving the needs of a large and diverse community. |
Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with museum communications.
- Experience with print production.
- Background in art history and/or anthropology.
