Position Purpose
With guidance from advancement leadership, develops, implements, and manages a donor relations and stewardship program to sustain and advance Tuck's philanthropic priorities. This role will primarily focus on donor relations and stewardship activities after gift acceptance.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 6 or more years' experience or combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  1. Experience and skill managing a donor relations and stewardship program for annual and leadership gifts in a higher education or nonprofit environment with a similar donor community and operating processes.
  2. Experience and skill using fundraising management systems and technology (e.g., Ellucian Advance) to optimize work processes and services.
  3. Knowledge of higher education philanthropy, alumni engagement, fundraising principles, practices, and technology gained through a liberal arts education, continuing education and professional development, and/or relevant work experience.
  4. Demonstrated writing experience and excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  5. Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.
  6. Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of alumni, donors, and colleagues.
  7. High accuracy, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large.
  9. Able to collaborate effectively with others to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  10. Able to proactively identify and pursue relevant learning and professional development opportunities and apply new knowledge, insights, and skills to enhance results.

Key Accountabilities


Description
Donor Relations and Stewardship Strategy: Manages the donor relations and stewardship program for all philanthropic giving to Tuck. In coordination with the director of campaign operations, takes an innovative approach to donor relations and stewardship, envisioning and implementing strategies and communications that foster a culture of philanthropy amongst the Tuck community. Evaluates, refines, and innovates donor relations and stewardship program through analysis and development of best practices.

Impact Reporting: Collaborates with institutional partners to develop and oversee the preparation and distribution of impact reports for Tuck's highest priority donors.

Custom Stewardship: Leads efforts to craft and implement innovative stewardship for leadership gift donors and top annual fund donors. Collaborates with chief advancement officer, leadership gift officers, and the executive director of annual giving on recognition of significant individual gifts or donors.

Donor Recognition: Manages print and online donor recognition. Collaborates with gift officers and Tuck Communications on content and design for acknowledgment communications.

Database Management: Maintains stewardship tracking systems by entering donor recognition and stewardship contact activities into advancement systems.

Professional/Team Development: Gains knowledge of and shares insights into pertinent trends and innovations through market research, participation in peer networks and associations, and attendance at workshops, conferences, seminars, and speaking engagements.
