Overview

Job Purpose and Scope:

Working with internal and external resources as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, the Learning Solutions and Innovation Manager leads the function responsible for developing learning solutions (curriculum) and partnering with our Information Technology organization to ensure best use of learning technology. The manager directs and collaborates with Electric Boat's Learning leadership team to execute learning solutions and digital strategies.

Program Management

    Drives curriculum goals and establishes priorities to meet Electric Boat's readiness commitments to General Dynamics Executives and the U.S. Navy.
  • Manages a team that assesses business needs and develops solutions that address capability gaps.
  • Manages a team of Training Analysts, Learning Architects and Learning Technologists. Plans work, sets goals, monitors progress, and provides feedback.
  • Coordinates with external peers to ensure courseware is developed efficiently, effectively, and to expected standards.
  • Demonstrates a strategic approach to problem solving and removing barriers.
  • Defines and leads technology eco-system strategy and execution.

Stakeholder Management

  • Proactively develops and strengthens relationships with business leaders to gain stakeholder trust, alignment, and advocacy for optimizing learning solutions.
  • Gathers feedback from managers and employees on the effectiveness of training delivered and make recommendations on solutions that drive increased proficiency and retention of knowledge.

Operational Excellence

  • Drives expectations of learner experience including quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Utilizes data driven insight to ensure curriculum investments result in positive business impact.
  • Drives execution of learning solutions.
  • Sets expectations on timing and delivery.
  • Manages and provides accountability to project budgets.
  • Consults with learning team and business owners to mitigate program risks.

Technology Innovation

  • Partners with EB IT Leadership and solution providers to design and deploy effective learning technology eco-system that enables efficiency and effective learner experience.
  • Oversees strategy development and influences learning systems identification and implementation decisions (i.e.SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS), Skill Management System, and Content Management).
  • Continues to meet modern learning expectations by innovating over time.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design or relevant learning/education related experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in learning design or delivery required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a supervisor

Preferred:

  • Experience with learning systems and digital eco-system implementation preferred
  • Project/Program Management experience preferred
