Job Description:

Uses knowledge/skill in one or more areas of specialized work (e.g., electrical maintenance, HVAC maintenance installation and construction). Employees often operate specialized and/or heavy equipment.

JOB DUTIES

  • Works independently or assists supervisor to fulfill responsibilities within a specialized domain, such as masonry, fountain maintenance, electrical maintenance, HVAC maintenance and construction or installation projects to include executing work orders related to repairs as well as the replacements of lamps and ballasts.

  • Operates and maintains equipment related to major duties.

  • Assists in the inventory process of supplies and/or equipment in a specific area.

  • Will be required to attend various training and certification courses related to field of expertise.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.

  • Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Overtime may be required to include serves as Emergency On-Call after six months.

EDUCATION

Required:

High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

One year of experience in a related position.

Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment.

Preferred:

More than one year of experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:

Exacting accuracy in all phases of work performed.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

Electrical Apprentice License within 30 days of hire.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

All jobs require a current Criminal Background Check (CBC).

Must pass a physical examination.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibility.

EQUIPMENT

Small hand tools and heavy equipment common to the specific area of responsibility (e.g., 15 foot lift, 30 foot lift, 60 foot lift, etc.).

Each member of the faculty, staff and student body is responsible for carrying out campus regulations, procedures and practices and shall comply with federal, state and local laws related to security matters while on the campus or in the course of representing or conducting University activities.

ATTENDANCE STANDARD

Maintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements are an essential requirement of this position, including working all full-time regular hours as established by the supervisor in addition to any scheduled or emergency overtime.
