Job Description:

Are you ready for an incredible opportunity at our Brillion, WI location? The Advanced Development (AD) Chief Engineer position is calling for a dynamic leader with significant industry experience in guiding technical teams to develop products on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality. This role is at the forefront of new and emerging technologies, requiring a candidate with deep expertise in bringing innovative technologies to market. As the AD Chief Engineer, you'll set the technical vision for projects and lead your team to bring that vision to life. You'll be responsible for maturing and de-risking technologies, ensuring they are primed and ready to enter Ariens' New Product Development (NPD) process.

THE DAY TO DAY...

  • Develop a strategic vision for how new technologies can impact AriensCo products. Lead team to create MVPs that mitigate key risk, demonstrate cost and quality goals, and achieve DFM and DFA standards. Work with other leads in engineering to transfer these technologies into NPDs

  • Responsible for requirements, design, prototype build, test plans, customer trials, timelines and resource management

  • Establish and achieve cost, quality, DFM, and DFA targets

  • Drive innovation within the engineering team and hold team members accountable to complete projects on time and on budget

  • Teach best practices and creates design standards

  • Contribute to strategic and tactical plans to support the broader business plan

  • Prepare engineering documents including cost estimates, appropriation requests, project schedules, and design specifications

  • Lead technical design reviews related to technology and sub-systems that will be used on assigned product launches and technology development projects

  • Monitor group work and mentor team members on best practices for executing project work

THE QUALIFICATIONS...

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S.) from a four-year accredited institution with the focus being relevant to the job requirements of the technical team that he/she manages (example: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.)

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is preferred with a significant amount in a leadership role either of direct reports or on project teams

  • Significant experience in launching new technologies into product

  • Experience in high-volume product launches is preferred

  • An additional business degree or a project management certification is a plus
