Job Summary

The Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for developing and implementing innovative visual merchandising strategies that enhance product presentation and customer experience across all sales channels. This role is integral to the Product Management, Product Development, and Product Experience teams, ensuring that products are displayed in a way that maximizes customer engagement and drives sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual merchandising, a keen eye for design, and the ability to collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and experienced designers.Work Location: Columbus, GA or Scottsdale, AZ

Duties and Responsibilities

Visual Merchandising Strategy: 20%



  • Develop and execute visual merchandising strategies that align with product management goals, brand guidelines, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with product management and development teams to understand product features, benefits, and target markets, and translate this knowledge into compelling in-store and digital displays.
  • Create and maintain visual standards for product presentation across all retail and online platforms, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand experience.


Product Presentation and Display: 15%



  • Design and implement product displays, window installations, and in-store layouts that highlight product features and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Work closely with the product development team to ensure that new products are effectively merchandised from launch, with a focus on driving customer engagement and sales.
  • Optimize product placement and visual merchandising techniques based on customer behavior, sales data, and feedback from product experience teams.


Cross-Functional Collaboration: 30%



  • Partner with product management, product development, and product experience teams to align visual merchandising efforts with product strategies and marketing campaigns.
  • Work with marketing and e-commerce teams to ensure that visual merchandising strategies are integrated into digital and omnichannel experiences.
  • Collaborate with retail operations to ensure that visual merchandising plans are executed effectively in stores and other physical locations.


Project Management: 10%



  • Manage the end-to-end process of visual merchandising projects, including planning, design, execution, and evaluation.
  • Oversee the production of visual merchandising materials, including displays, signage, and props, ensuring that all elements meet brand and product standards.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to source materials and execute visual merchandising projects within budget and timelines.


Performance Analysis and Optimization: 10%



  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of visual merchandising strategies, using sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to make data-driven decisions.
  • Conduct regular store visits and audits to assess the implementation and impact of visual merchandising initiatives, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activities, continuously refining and enhancing visual merchandising strategies to maintain a competitive edge.


Team Leadership and Development: 15%



  • Lead and mentor a team of visual merchandisers, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high standards of creativity and execution.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the visual merchandising team, encouraging the development of new ideas and approaches.
  • Manage team performance, setting clear goals and expectations, and conducting regular performance reviews.


Qualification Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:



  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in visual merchandising, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience working closely with product management, product development, and marketing teams to drive successful product presentations.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative visual merchandising projects across retail and digital environments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional visual design skills with a strong understanding of merchandising principles and customer behavior.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and visual merchandising tools.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and customer insights to inform visual merchandising strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a creative team.
  • Regular travel to retail locations and trade shows.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for store installations and special events
