How You'll Make an Impact

  • Support the Supply Chain in developing new suppliers and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
  • Analyze material properties and their impact on product performance.
  • Compare material properties using datasheets to identify optimal options.
  • Ensure materials meet environmental and performance standards.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate material properties.
  • Collaborate with laboratories to ensure accurate test results.
  • Evaluate test results and make informed decisions on material qualification.
  • Drive the standardization of parts and materials to improve efficiency.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Science, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience. A PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience is also considered.
  • Work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Familiarity with material characterization techniques and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in Production, Quality Assurance, and Supplier development in the Metal industry.
  • Knowledge of material standards (ASTM, ASME, etc.) and experience with AutoCAD, Creo, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Windchill, SAP.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
