The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation's leading advocacy organization for children's healthcare, is seeking a collaborative team member with 3 years' experience supporting public awareness communications campaigns. This role will support the implementation of campaign strategies, activities, and deliverables targeting AAP members, other pediatric clinicians, and parents. In addition, the position will assist with the creation of multi-channel campaign materials, facilitating the review of campaign deliverables, and collecting and reporting data on campaign effectiveness.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Campaigns, some duties include:

  1. Assist in the creation of communications plans to achieve specific goals and objectives for campaigns to reach AAP members, other clinicians, and parent audiences.
  2. Work with staff teams to coordinate activities that ensure timely production and delivery of multimedia content, social media, web content, newsletters, educational content, and other campaign related materials.
  3. Facilitate team meetings to ensure timely execution of campaign deliverables.
  4. Write, edit, and review content to reach campaign goals and objectives ensuring accuracy, message alignment, and communications effectiveness.
  5. Coordinate with partner organizations, sponsors, and vendors as needed.
  6. Collect campaign data and key performance metrics for campaign activities to support the evaluation of effectiveness as it pertains to defined goals and objectives.
  7. Create reports of campaign activities to track the progress of deliverables.
  8. Assist with other campaign-related projects, as assigned.
  9. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications needed:

  1. Bachelor's degree in communications, public health, digital marketing, journalism or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.
  2. At least three years' related experience coordinating activities to support the development of communications or digital marketing campaigns required, including facilitating the development of communication materials and performance analytics, and supporting collaboration with external partners, organizations and sponsors to enhance public awareness. Experience in the development of communications campaigns/social marketing, public/global health initiatives, and non-profit or association work strongly preferred.
  3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, critical thinking, and verbal/written communication skills required. Must be able to manage multiple projects or assignments simultaneously within strict deadlines, take initiative, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and contribute to fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued and respected. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience, virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx, Teams), and document collaboration platforms (eg, SharePoint) preferred. Some travel and evening/weekend work required.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $35.06/hr - $37.02/hr. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, and organizational policies. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hybrid working arrangement of 40% on-site at our Chicago suburb headquarters in Itasca, IL.
