A ServiceNow Platform Architect job is available in Clayton, NC. In this role will be responsible for ensuring scalability, sustainability, and alignment with best practices as we deploy IT Service Management and IT Operations Management. capabilities.

The ServiceNow Platform Architect will provide technical leadership, governance, and strategic oversight, ensuring that design decisions align with Grifols' business objectives, ITSM processes, compliance requirements, and operational needs. You will collaborate with internal IT teams, governance leaders, ServiceNow consultants, and our implementation partner to guide platform architecture, integrations, and overall system design while ensuring we stay as close to out-of-the-box as possible.

This is a contract role with an expected duration of ~8 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Platform Strategy & Architecture Oversight
*Collaborate with Grifols leadership and ServiceNow consultancy to define the ServiceNow architectural vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Grifols" ITSM, ITOM, and business transformation goals
*In partnership with our ServiceNow consultancy, serve as the final authority on technical design decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with ITIL best practices
*Ensure the platform remains as close to out-of-the-box as possible, minimizing customizations to reduce long-term technical debt

Solution Design & Governance
*In partnership with our ServiceNow consultancy, provide technical oversight and architectural governance to validate designs, configurations, and integration proposed by the implementation partner.
*Ensure alignment between governance, compliance, and operational needs, balancing regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX) with functional efficiency.
*Review and approve ServiceNow workflows, data models, CMDB structures, integrations, and automation strategies
*Work collaboratively to define governance policies, security models, and best practices for platform management

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
*Work closely with ITSM Process Owners, Operational SMEs, Governance Teams, and ITD Leadership to translate business requirements into scalable solutions
*Act as a liaison between technical teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure platform alignment with business objectives
*Participate in Steering Committees and Design Review Boards to drive informed decision-making

Implementation, Integrations & Future Roadmap
*Support the ServiceNow integration strategy, ensuring seamless connectivity with existing IT systems, data sources, and enterprise applications
*Guide and support the implementation of ITSM, ITOM, and future ServiceNow modules, ensuring a cohesive and extensible platform
*Define a scalability and expansion strategy, ensuring the platform can accommodate future growth, automation, and digital transformation initiatives

Required Qualifications & Experience:
*10+ years of ITSM, ITOM, or enterprise IT architecture experience, with at least 5+ years specializing in ServiceNow platform architecture
*Deep expertise in ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, and CMDB best practices
*Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities, integration frameworks (REST, SOAP, MID Servers), and automation tools
*Proven experience in large-scale ServiceNow implementations, ensuring platform stability, scalability, and security
*Ability to review and optimize system configurations, data structures, and workflows to minimize complexity and maximize efficiency
*Experience with governance frameworks, security models, compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR), and ITIL best practices
*Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions while managing competing priorities
*Prior experience working with ServiceNow professional services and third-party implementation partners

Preferred Qualifications:
*ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM, ITOM, or related areas
*Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies for ServiceNow development and deployment
