The College of Education is home to six instructional departments, the Office of Educator Preparation, the Office of Research, and the Office of Assessment, Data Management, and Digital Learning, and the Center for
STEM Education. The mission of the College of Education is to prepare well-equipped professionals for the education field. The Summer Ventures Camp is an outreach program hosted by the Center for
STEM Education for high school students in the region. |
Job Duties |
The Center for
STEM Education within the College of Education is seeking an individual to serve as Residence Life Director (
RLD) for Summer Ventures Camp in a temporary, time-limited, exempt professional staff (
EPS) position with availability from June 9, 2025 through July 26, 2025. The Summer Ventures
RLD will be charged with leading and organizing the supervision, guidance, organization, and activities for approximately 50 academically successful high school juniors and seniors from across NC, as well as assist with coordination of RA tasks/duties. For 2025, students will participate for three weeks of the program and attend various challenging classes, taught by
ECU faculty. The
RLD will communicate with students, other Residence Life staff, faculty, parents, and Summer Ventures administration to be certain we are offering our students a high-impact experience in accordance with our mission.
The
RLD will also serve as the Summer Ventures Assistant Director assisting the Summer Ventures Director with planning, organizing, and preparing for the Summer Ventures camp. Conditions include making reservations, managing the Summer Ventures Floater, setting orders and planning camp schedules.
Management (60%)
The Summer Ventures
RLD will lead and supervise the Residence Life Assistant Director (
RLAD), Residence Assistants (RAs), and students. The
RLD will organize, guide and plan activities for approximately 50 academically successful high school juniors and seniors from all across NC.
Administrative - Student and Staff Assistance (25%)
Utilizing technology skills and resources to communicate with students, other Residence Life staff, faculty, parents, and Summer Ventures administration to be certain we are offering our students a high impact enrichment experience in accordance with our mission.
Supervision - Coordination of RA tasks/duties (15%)
The Summer Ventures
RLD will plan and facilitate activities outside of the scheduled classroom hours. |
Minimum Education/Experience |
Requires bachelor's degree in a
STEM-related field, education, or other related area. |
