Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Multimedia in Temple's Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications, the Associate Director of Visual Strategy is responsible for the day-to-day direction and work of the University's central, in-house video team. The Associate Director proactively determines opportunities for video storytelling in alignment with central marketing efforts as well as with campus partners. They anticipate and visualize content needs based on current trends, events and technology. The Associate Director adheres to the established video production workflow: upon leadership approval, they direct the video team in concept development, storyboarding and shot list creation followed by the approval process. They manage the daily operations of the video team, including providing creative direction and supervision. The Associate Director supports university priorities by ensuring that video production is consistently on-brand. The Associate Director uses a keen understanding of video marketing and trends to communicate to our critical audiences across channels. They also champion the Temple brand, ensuring a cohesive and consistent customer experience. As a leader in the department, they collaborate closely with multimedia colleagues as well as those in design, motion graphics and social media to model a holistic approach and ensure strategic alignment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in communications, film, journalism or a related field
* At least 4 years of directly related experience.
* A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities
* Must have strong background shooting video on Canon DSLR and C200 cinema line cameras.
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
* Use of camera stabilization equipment, including Ronin products.
* Must be fluent in Adobe Premiere Pro and be knowledgeable working within the Adobe Creative Suite workflow.
* Must demonstrate a strong background in motion graphics creation using Adobe After Effects.
* Must have experience with post-production color grading raw video footage.
* Must have a firm understanding of production lighting.
* Experience conducting on-camera interviews and telling stories through video and audio.
* Proven leader and collaborator who works to unify teams across functions.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy of work. Superior organizational skills - must be able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
* Ability to quickly acclimate to different environments and are open to new processes and technologies.

* 7 years of professional working experience in a video production setting.
