Model Based Systems Engineer- Directed Energy
Contingent upon Customer Approval
- Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a Model Based Systems Engineer- Directed Energy in Huntsville, AL.
- Serve as a Model Based Systems Engineer for the Directed Energy Directorate, Technical Center, US Army Space and Missile Defense Command U.S.
- This position is a Part Time role.
Job Description:
- Responsible for assisting the Modular Open Systems Architecture Team with assessing, preparing, and providing research on open systems architecture design and development for Directed Energy.
- Creating SysML models in Cameo and depicting the system by creating the associated diagrams (e.g., BDD, IBD, Activities, etc.) and tables (e.g., Requirements, Requirements Verification Matrices, etc.)
- Responsible for assisting in the research into a variety of Directed Energy components and subsystems.
- Participate in office tag-ups, working groups, ad hoc, IPTs or similar venues. Prepare notes or after-action summaries, track actions items, and make recommendations on response for closure.
- Work with material developers and government civilians to research interfaces and standards of instrumentation build, testing and utilization of one-off characterization equipment.
- Create, compose, consolidate, and review documentation, e.g., correspondence, briefings, and response to inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience and knowledge of creating systems engineering models using Cameo Enterprise Architect or Systems Modeler.
- Must have experience and knowledge of SyML 1.0.
- Must have knowledge of digital engineering practices and principles (e.g., digital threads and digital twins).
- Must be proficienct in MS Office.
- Must have worked with DOD or other Federal Government Agencies.
Desired Qualifications:
- SyML 2.0, preferred.
- College Degree preferably with an Engineering degree.
- 1-5 Years experience using Cameo Enterprise Architect or Systems Modeler, preferred.
- 1-5 Years experience of SyML 1.0, preferred.
- Ability to work in a dynamic high paced work environment, preferred.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, preferred.
- Excellent Organizational Skills, preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret Security clearance, and the ability to maintain clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- 10% or less travel.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
- Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
- Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.
