Janitor Lead (Swing Shift)

Location: Lakewood, WA (Joint Base Lewis-McChord)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-time, Swing Shift

Compensation: $27.00 - $27.00 hour

Skookum is seeking a Working Janitor Lead with a positive attitude. The Janitorial Working Team Lead is responsible for assisting the supervisor with the supervision of the janitorial crew in all janitorial required activities. The Janitorial Working Team Lead is responsible for assigning, coordinating, and tracking employee work assignments as well as reviewing work orders, monitoring the safety and well-being of employees, and recording work completed.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with overseeing/coordinating/training crew in janitorial activities at JBLM facilities.
  • Complete required documentation including but not limited to, training agendas, attendance, scheduling, and reports.
  • Conduct supply and equipment inventories and submit recommendations.
  • Document and report all quality control complaints.
  • Ensure safety procedures are practiced and strive to maintain an accident-free environment.
  • Participate with rehabilitation staff in the development and monitoring of individual evaluations, assessments and/or training program.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years Lead experience, preferably in a janitorial work setting required.
  • Experience in training and working with people with disabilities preferred.
  • Experience with scheduling and report documentation
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work a 40-hour work week.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
