Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of the manufacturing line and completion of associated documentation. This position also monitors compliance with safety protocols and ensures product quality based on specifications. The main goal of the Machine Operator is to help achieve the production standards within the production timeframe. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: * Operates filling lines in accordance to the Production Schedule * Cleans and organizes the filling line * Escalates maintenance issues or requests to Maintenance or Supervisor * Assists the Line Lead in performing the set up on equipment * Runs packaging machinery including minor adjustments to equipment * Performs hourly weight checks, seal testing, and other inspections as required * Informs Lead or Supervisor when machine is down * Assists Line Lead with the completion of master batch records and computer Qualifications Required Education, Certification & Experience: * 1 year experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing * Able to read and follow written instructions in English * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with the aid of a calculator * Flexibility to work overtime * Basic computer skills Preferred Education, Certification & Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent experience Physical Demands: * Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds * Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds * Be able to work 8 - 12 hour shifts * Perform repetitive tasks * Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk * Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces * Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus |
