JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Documentation Improvement Trainer (CDI) Trainer, is responsible for training staff on clinical documentation concepts and procedures to ensure accurate and precise documentation in the medical record to reflect the highest acuity level of the patient, support appropriate coding, and optimal reimbursement. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
3 years CDI experience. and 5 years patient care nursing experience in acute care setting. Extensive clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology/physiology. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to review the medical record to identify information not yet documented by supported by clinical evidence. Knowledge of the elements of disease processes and related procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to concisely and effectively communicate with team members, providers, leadership, etc. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
