Summary

The Operations Manager (Recip) for PROPWR is responsible for leading the gas reciprocating engine portion of the operations program. This role involves managing field operations, deployment, and maintenance of assets to ensure efficiency, reliability and safety. The Operations Manager will work collaboratively within a matrix organization to meet deployment timelines and project requirements while tracking and reporting on KPIs to ensure partner and business success. This is a critical role focused on maximizing the reliability, availability and working life of power generation equipment at the highest safety standards while in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the gas reciprocating engine operations and team, focusing on maintenance programs, standard operating procedures, and cost management.
  • Implement and maintain strategies to optimize process efficiency and quality to minimize repair and maintenance cycle time, maximizing equipment availability.
  • Drive a culture of safety, continuous improvement, process efficiency, and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain operations KPIs, analyze trends, and proactively make adjustments to positively impact results.
  • Assist in mobilizing and demobilizing packages and related equipment.
  • Ensure that operations and maintenance personnel are qualified, trained, and competent to provide required service and support.
  • Foster a culture of quality and safety while collaborating effectively within a matrix organization to meet customer demands.
  • Establish and control operations and maintenance expenditures within budget requirements by monitoring R&M expenditures, adjusting priorities, and forecasting material and employee needs to meet business demands.
  • Optimize the utilization of a CMMS program to track and coordinate operations and maintenance programs.
  • Support Engineering with field operations and maintenance feedback to improve or implement new equipment designs or features that drive operational excellence, reduce costs, and maximize equipment reliability and availability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and other peer departments to leverage equipment performance and sensor data for proactive maintenance based on condition and predictive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and peer departments to develop and implement remote operations and tactical platforms for gas reciprocating equipment.
  • Act as supervisory direct report for assigned personnel (i.e., performance management, corrective action, training, defining daily priorities, creating work schedules, etc.).
  • Manage time and attendance for assigned personnel including timecard approval and paid time off requests.
  • Oversee the hiring of assigned personnel (i.e., collaborate with Human Resources recruiters, perform interviews, select qualified talent, etc.).
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or other industry-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading field focused maintenance and operations organization in the gas compression or power generation space, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with power generation, mobile experience preferred.
  • Strong field and maintenance operations experience in the gas compression, power generation or heavy equipment space.
  • Experience with natural gas reciprocating engines or gas turbine engines required.
  • Proven track record establishing new organizational processes, procedures, resource planning, prioritization to execute and meet timelines and commitments.
  • Experience managing to a budget implementing and maintaining systems designed to optimize the performance of the operations and equipment maintenance functions.
  • Experience working with lean principles, continuous improvement programs and incorporating data into decision making.
  • Strong mechanical equipment acumen.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization and decision-making skills.
  • Skilled at identifying talent and developing others.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Responsive, action oriented.
