What You'll Do:

The Managing Director, Office of Technology Strategy and Innovation will report to the Chief Information Officer and is accountable for ensuring OCC technology solutions are resilient, secure, and operationally efficient.

The role is responsible for:

In close partnership with OCC executives this individual will lead the OCC Systems Architecture teams and OTSI Engineering teams, with support from IT and Security Services colleagues, to define architectural solutions to business needs that meet reliability, performance, resilience and security standards by specifying, designing, and evaluating, state-of-the-art business systems. It is crucial this individual defines the strategy for integration of multiple infrastructure solutions (cloud, network, IAM, on-premises hardware, etc.) into an operationally efficient and highly resilient platform for delivery of OCC's industry leading services.

To succeed candidates must have a strong understanding of the application, business operational requirements, infrastructure and security capabilities required to support development, testing, and production systems in a highly regulated environment. With this depth of knowledge candidates must develop a compelling vision for the infrastructure and related process that enable those capabilities. You'll need to develop a team aligned on shared outcomes with effective communication, continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the practices used by the team to deliver and operate the infrastructure, resolve roadblocks that will inevitably arise, develop an organizational network to identify when items falling through the cracks, and establish clear lines of ownership for the defined capabilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defining and overseeing the creation and execution of the OCC Technology Strategy and driving continuous improvement of our infrastructure, systems, and processes

  • Establishing and enforcing technology standards, ensuring solutions comply with Security standards and exercising governance over the same

  • Building a team, either through the addition of new staff or elevating existing staff, with a passionate pursuit of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Communicating and executing a strategic vision to deliver secure-by-design flawless systems and operations in a highly regulated environment

  • Partnering closely Security teams to define technology roadmaps that support evolving security landscape

  • Working closely with the business leaders to find process and technology solutions to enable business outcomes

  • Measuring and setting standards for OCC technology against outcome specific KPIs

  • Proven ability to execute and drive an organization of both direct and in-direct reports

  • Experienced operating in a highly regulated organization responsible for systems with the highest levels of resiliency

  • Experience operating in a real-time messaging environment integrated with numerous industry participants

  • Deep understanding of how to design and deploy fault tolerant, high availability systems

  • Strong decision-making abilities with a proven ability to weigh the relative risks, costs and benefits of potential actions

  • Ability to quickly gain credibility as an executive who commands respect through his exemplary professionalism and trustworthiness

  • Broad technical exposure

  • Operate effectively as a member of the executive team through partnership, collaboration and influencing across lines of business and corporate functions

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or 15+ years of experience in IT and security engineering and operations.

  • At least 10 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on systems and infrastructure.

  • Experience with managing large-scale IT infrastructure, including network, servers, storage systems, and cloud based infrastructure-as-code.

  • Depth and breadth of experience in a highly regulated industry, like financial services, and an understanding of rules/regulations that govern them

Compensation

  • The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
  • In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
  • We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package as noted on www.theocc.com/careers
  • All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.

Salary Range

$237,000.00 - $448,200.00

Incentive Range

63% to 70%

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
