CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Lead Solutions Architect to join our talented Information Technology team. The position offers growth, flexibility and a collaborative work environment.

As part of the Enterprise Architecture Team, the Lead Solution Architect collaborates with both business and IT leadership to develop technology visions that align with the strategic goals of the business. This role involves defining new technology services and domains, working closely with domain-specific technology architects to integrate their expertise into comprehensive solutions, and partnering with product and program managers to ensure alignment with the enterprise's technology stack and product lifecycle.

How you'll create opportunities in this Lead Solutions Architect role:

  • Consultation Lead: The Lead Solutions Architect works with the Business Relationship Manager for Firm Services & leads strategic direction meetings with IT and Firm Leadership. S/he works directly with the business to design technical solutions for a business problem and assist the Project and Program Managers to create a scope of work and identify technology gaps and risks associated with in-flight and existing solutions.
  • Architecture Guide: The Lead Solutions Architect works with technical teams to forecast and roadmap technologies, develops strategic plans from which standards can be established and enforced. S/he assesses requirements and translates them into system guidelines and high-level technical requirements.
  • Technical Team Initiatives: The Lead Solutions Architect creates documentation around architectural initiatives as required. S/he provides peer review of technology initiatives. Guides and counsel's technical teams performing implementation activities, and reviews implementation outcomes to ensure design compliance.

What you will need:

  • Nine years of experience required. Three years of general IT experience and six years of experience in an IT solutions architecture role.
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Technical Competencies

  • Microsoft technology offerings such as Azure Compute, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Entra, Document Intelligence, Copilot and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Off-the-shelf financial, tax and accounting packages such as those from Wolters-Kluwer & Thompson Reuters.
  • Data Engineering technologies such as Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake, relational databases, Master Data Management and non-tabular database technologies.
  • General IT technology patterns such as ITSM, ITOM, ITIL, modern workplace, TBM, Agile and Waterfall.
  • Knowledge and fluency of development, automation and orchestration concepts, patterns and terminology.
  • Ability to work closely with the Business Relationship Mangers, Project Manager, Product Owners and Program Manager roles, providing technical guidance and translating technical concepts into business consumable information.
  • Ability to work closely with IT technical teams, translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to create technical roadmaps and help drive product life cycles.
  • Ability to create IT business processes as needed within the Enterprise and Solution Architecture domain.
  • Ability to create technical artifacts such as conceptual drawings, conceptual data flows and conceptual business flows.
  • Ability to work well in a matrix organization, including excelling interpersonal and presentation skills when working with professional staff and firm leadership.
  • The ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and work closely with IT Teams and the business.
  • The ability to work independently, translating broad leadership directives into actionable plans.
  • Broad range of technology expertise
