About the Opportunity:

The Vice-President of Infrastructure Finance is a critical, strategic leader in Finance and the senior-most Finance leader dedicated solely to support the Ferry & Concessions business. Key elements of the role include:



  • Financial Modelling - Create and own multi-decade, long-term financial models for all Ferry & Concessions businesses, anticipate future scenarios and allow for financing of a "ring-fenced" Concessions entity, as well as other activities.
  • Growth - Support the pursuit or organic and inorganic growth opportunities by leading the financial modelling of such opportunities for the Concessions business.
  • Organic opportunities - expansion of existing contracts, including new routes and RFPs to renew or expand existing contracts. Run financial models around new RFP opportunities and expansion into new markets.
  • Inorganic - support Concessions and Finance leadership to pursue add-on M&A opportunities that align with the core Concessions business.
  • Value Creation - work with the team to model out impact of value creation opportunities to be pursued within the bounds of the existing contracts (pricing, ancillary revenues, marketing/demand generation, etc.).


This role includes a high level of collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, and President of the Ferry and Concessions division. In addition, this role will interface directly with our private equity sponsor Strategic Value Partners. The successful applicant will be a qualified professional who can demonstrate a track record of success in their career to date within the broader concessions industries. Hornblower is looking for leaders who are prepared to operate outside their comfort zone. This role represents a unique opportunity to shape the business and drive significant value.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Modelling and Corporate Finance



  • Create and own a 40+ year financial model that predicts the long-term trajectory of the business.
  • Work with our private equity sponsor, capital markets team, and others to pursue financing opportunities afforded to the Concessions businesses.
  • Work with the FP&A team in a symbiotic manner to reflect long and short-term opportunities in annual budgets and the Company's long range planning processes.
  • Review and refine legal entity structure and transfer pricing policies to optimize efficiency of corporate structure.
  • Perform valuation analysis to evaluate status quo valuation, potential acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and other business opportunities.
  • Analyze market conditions, industry trends, competitor activities, and general economic factors to inform valuation assumptions; identify key valuation drivers / risks and quantify through detailed sensitivity analysis.


Growth



  • Work with leadership to form views and models around the impact of organic growth opportunities.
  • Support any inorganic opportunities that will arise for the Ferry & Concession businesses.
  • Support business case development, including detailed budgets and timelines, investment returns, scenario analysis, alternative options, risks, and mitigation strategies to secure internal approvals.
  • Assist in commercial negotiations and deal structuring.


Value Creation



  • Dive deep into existing contracts to understand potential points of expansion.
  • Bring forth ideas regarding ways to structure contracts and expand the value of existing contracts.


Requirements & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or master's degree in relevant field.
  • Qualified professional with experience in corporate finance and concessions (preferable development / value creation).
  • Always displays the highest levels of professional integrity, honesty, and personal credibility.
  • Strategic thinker - forward looking and able to balance delivery today with longer-term goals.
  • High-energy, creative, and resourceful self-starter who demonstrates leadership skills and instincts.
  • Team player, receptive to ideas. Shares information and keeps key stakeholders informed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Minimum 10 years industry experience.
