Readiness and Sustainment Operations Manager
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Readiness and Sustainment Operations Manager who will be key in providing technical support to NAVSEA Warfare Centers and Naval Operational and Intermediate Level Maintenance Commands.
- Located in San Diego, CA or Virginia Beach, VA
Job Description:
- Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking an Operations Manager to lead Valkyrie's Readiness and Sustainment (R&S) Operation. The R&S Operation consists of prime and subcontracts encompassing NAVSEA Warfare Centers and Naval Operational and Intermediate Level Maintenance Commands. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, direction, and approval all work assigned to the operation and assure that quality products are delivered on time and within budget.
- Direct and coordinate financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
- Responsible for Profit and Loss (P&L) for all prime and subcontracts under the R&S operation portfolio.
- Promote and existing customer relations through frequent communication.
- Consult with customers to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas and actions.
- Develop, mentor, train and evaluate staff to maximize their career potential.
- Direct and coordinate personnel management activities including performance management, recruiting, hiring, promotions, and terminations.
- Support and assist in the development of marketing and business plans for targeted opportunities that fall within R&S capabilities of the Company.
- Market and capture work to ensure the Company's Core Business Objectives and competitiveness in the marketplace is maintained.
- Keep abreast of evolving technology and procedures, which may enhance the opportunities for future projects.
- Work with the Business Development/Strategic Planning team to identify and pursue new customers, programs, and business opportunities.
- Project a positive image to employees, customers, and similar industrial companies by ensuring a cost-efficient, quality product is produced in accordance with the customers' requirements.
- Maintain a positive work environment through positive actions to affect morale, providing adequate opportunities for employee personal growth, and ensuring the program meets Company regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an Engineering or Business Discipline and at least 10 years of related experience
- Must have at least 10 years of Intermediate or Operational Level Maintenance Experience.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience with Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Combat Systems and/or C4I systems and equipment repair and modernization.
- Must be able to demonstrate quality leadership and managing multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams related to engineering services in support of the Navy fleet.
- Must have at least 4 years of director level experience supporting complex maintenance, repair, operations and overhaul of surface ships, submarines, and aircraft carriers.
Desired Qualifications:
It is desired that the applicant has the following experience:
- 10 years of experience supporting Regional Maintenance Centers.
- 1+ year experience supporting Fleet Forces Command
It is desired that the applicant has the following education:
- Master's degree in management, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)
Security Requirements:
- The applicant must have an interim or fully adjudicated Secret Level Security Clearance to access military facilities and Naval installations.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel- less than 25%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
