Job Summary The post-doctoral fellow, under direct supervision from the principal investigator, is responsible to independently carry out experimentation aligned with the overall research portfolio of the laboratory. Essential Functions The post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for:
- Independently researching, designing, and performing experimentation on multiple projects.
- Taking direction from the PI and collaborators to complete research objectives.
- Performing molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, plasmid isolation, genomic DNA/RNA isolation, DNA Sequencing (Sanger, Illumina, Nanopore), RNA Sequencing (Illumina).
- Assisting in spatial transcriptomics experimentation.
- Performing tissue culture on adherent, suspension, and transwell systems.
- Performing cellular assays including but not limited to ELISA, Western immunoblotting, flow cytometry, Luminex, transfection (chemical and nucleofection), viral titer.
- Performing all work in a BSL2 or BSL3 environment.
- Maintain and update paper and electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Compile, organize, and process data in various software including Microsoft Office, PRISM, FlowJo.
- Writing manuscripts, grants, and progress reports.
- Assisting in submission of manuscripts and grants.
- Preparation of Power Point slides and voice over power point.
- Attend project meetings and present data as required.
- Supervise and train junior scientists (high school, undergraduate, MS, pre-doctoral trainees).
- Assisting the PI in the overall organization and management of the laboratory.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Principle Investigator.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of PhD or Doctorate in Biology or related or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
- Possess excellent oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal skill.
- Proficiency in computer use
- Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture including adherent, suspension, and transwell systems.
- Extensive experience in cell assays including ELISA, Western Immunoblotting, Flow cytometry, and Luminex assays.
- Experience in molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, plasmid isolation, genomic DNA/RNA isolation, DNA Sequencing (Sanger, Illumina, Nanopore), RNA Sequencing (Illumina).
- Prior experience in troubleshooting and generating standard operating protocols (SOPs)
- Prior experience in day-to-day supervision and training of junior scientists

Additional Information This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630.00 to $81,940.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
