Under the leadership of the Associate Vice President of Professional Services, the Director of Radiology is responsible for providing administrative, financial, regulatory, and operational leadership to the Department of Radiology at the VCU Medical Center, Children's Pavilion & Tower, and all ambulatory imaging locations that directly support outpatient and MCVP clinics. This individual is responsible for leading the delivery of outstanding patient care services to VCUHS patients and ensuring that radiology is safe, effective, and aligns with the mission and vision of the VCU Health System. This position works closely with our community hospitals, Radiology Department Chair, and organizational leadership to ensure operational alignment across the enterprise.

Neonates (0-4 weeks) Infant (1-12 months) Pediatrics (1-12 years) Adolescents (13-17 years) Adults (18-64 years) Geriatrics (65 years and older) Employment Qualifications Required Education: Graduate of a JRC-accredited School of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine. Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Radiation Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) Licensure/Certification Preferred: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA). Minimum Qualifications Years and Type of Required Experience Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively more responsible Radiology supervisory/management positions Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Extensive industry knowledge related to radiology services with a demonstrated history of delivering exceptional patient care. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Cultural Responsiveness Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Ten (10) plus years of progressively more responsible Radiology supervisory/management positions at an academic medical center. Working Conditions Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel. Prolonged periods of working alone.
