Overview
As a Subject Matter Expert, you will apply your deep knowledge and experience in ship and systems acquisition and sustainment, expansion and fortification of the maritime industrial base, and related policy to provide thought leadership and strategic direction.
What will you do?
- Provide expert guidance and advice on specialized topics, particularly within the areas of ship and systems acquisition and sustainment, expansion and health of the maritime industrial base, and related policy and guidance.
- Conduct research and stay abreast of Government and industry trends, standards, and best practices, including but not limited to workforce development, supply chain stability, competition, investment strategies and impediments, and global collaboration.
- Assist in formulating and preparing technical documentation, reports, and responses to DoD, Congressional, and industry inquiries.
- Contribute to development of relevant policies, instructions, and directives.
- Develop and deliver presentations to share knowledge and expertise.
- Represent VTG at industry conferences, seminars, and other related events.
- Identifying potential areas for process improvement and recommend changes
- Provide thought leadership and strategic direction
Do you have what it takes?
- Deep knowledge and expertise in ship and systems acquisition, maritime industrial base, and related policy.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- 20 years of experience working in Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including ship and system research, development, acquisition, and sustainment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence across diverse teams.
- Proficient in project management and team leadership
- Secret clearance.
