Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Information Technology leads the management of endpoint devices and software services for the school's students, faculty, and staff, covering desktops, laptops, printers, multimedia systems, and other devices. Develop and oversee operational standards and practices for the school's service desk. Ensures IT operations comply with security and regulatory standards, with a focus on security agent deployment and vulnerability remediation. The Assistant Director will improve the end-user computing experience, resolve productivity issues, and implement solutions to enhance usability. Develop collaboration and partnerships with NYU IT and third-party vendors. Executes service delivery and operational excellence across IT services, including user support in infrastructure, systems, and endpoints. Manage School-wide databases, systems, and servers and ensure integrity of data. In collaboration with the School's Communications department, manage the School's website, serving as technical lead and leading CMS support and training (Adobe Experience Manager). Develop and supervise staff.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking

Required Experience:
5+ years Experience in providing supervision and customer support in a customer-facing technology IT environment

Preferred Experience:
5+ years Experience providing technology support in higher education, including knowledge of specialized software, systems or technologies.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, supervisory, interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Hands-on experience with at least one of the following programming languages - Bash script, VBScript, and PowerShell. Expertise in computer, software, and network troubleshooting and technical documentation. Proven ability to monitor and analyze problems. Excellent communication, problem solving and design skills. Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex and multifaceted projects. Collaborative, intuitive and ability to lead with clarity and direction. Knowledge of current information technologies and systems including systems development, data warehousing, Macintosh, UNIX, MS Windows operating systems, and large database applications as well as knowledge of Active Directory, OSI network model, and information security best practices.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Management of PC and Mac computers using endpoint automation tools and solutions with Workspace One, Kace, and JAMF. Project management skills. Prioritization and ability to lead and delegate. Expertise in audio/video systems and classroom technologies. Effective communication and relationship building skills with multiple constituencies. Ability to effectively integrate and manage complex projects. Capacity for flexible thinking with excellent analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization, both inside and outside the University.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00 to USD $120,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
