Job Overview

The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff.

A full-time Program Coordinator staff position is available in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

The Program Coordinator will oversee day-to-day operations of the Continuing Education program in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences (CE program). The CE Program has a rich history of providing high quality training and education on the prevention of occupational hazards and environmental exposures. The program's mission is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance workplace health through evidence-based education. The CE program supports an array of professionals including environmental health and safety specialists, industrial hygienists, public health practitioners, and other health professionals pursuing continuing education units at the University of Cincinnati via in-person and virtual training. The program coordinator will support the program director, program manager, and ensure efficient communication between instructors, students, and customers, while maintaining compliance with Department of Labor, OSHA policies and procedures. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

Essential Functions

  • Schedule classes on Zoom and send logistical emails to students, launch Zoom classes, assign the instructor as the host, and provide technical support as needed, communicate with students through the Zoom chat feature during class sessions, proctor exams on Zoom by monitoring students and providing access to an external survey link for test completion.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to support the CE program.
  • Responsible for management of training scheduling and billing/invoicing.
  • Respond to customer emails, phone calls, and related inquiries from current and prospective students.
  • Adherence to guidelines and procedures set by university and government agencies.
  • Assist with student recruitment activities and program events.
  • Manage email account and other electronic communication formats.
  • Maintain training files and archives, including managing electronic databases and monthly reporting.
  • Collaborate with program director to update and share flyers and brochures, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information, consistent branding, and effective communication of services and events.
  • Track and manage student attendance and test outcome data to ensure accurate records.
  • Support program growth and expansion of training services.
  • Regular attendance at department and program meetings.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
