Overview
The Network Engineer II is responsible for the design, configuration, and delivery of client-driven network projects. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong expertise in network routing, switching, firewall, and load-balancing technologies as they apply to a service provider. They will work directly with customers and translate complex requests into a common language. They will assist with training and mentoring other team members. They will act as a network escalation point for projects and issues.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
- 4+ years of configuration experience on network and security equipment
- Excellent customer facing communication skills (both written and verbal)
- 4+ years configuration experience and strong understanding of core networking technologies including:
- BGP (service provider level configuration)
- Routing and switching infrastructure from Cisco, Juniper, etc.
- Cisco 7600/6500 series
- Cisco Nexus data center switching platforms
- Layer 2 technologies such as Spanning Tree, STP, RSTP, etc.
- 4+ years of experience with network security technologies, advanced configuration and best practices in one or more of the below platforms:
- Cisco ASA
- Fortinet FortiGate
- Palo Alto
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills utilizing packet capture/analysis packages such as Wireshark, etc....
- Experience writing design and implementation documents, Visio drawings, process documents, customer statements of work, etc.
- Adequate professional experience and knowledge to perform Job Responsibilities
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
- Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications
Preferred Experience
- Obtained or willing to obtain relevant industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, etc.)
- Experience supporting large scale data center infrastructure environments
- Recent experience with network virtualization technologies such as virtual firewalls, virtual load balancers, MPLS VRFs, Nexus 1000V, etc.
- Experience supporting the networking requirements for Multi-tenant environments.
- 3+ years of support and design of load balancer implementations including:
- Experience and knowledge of network monitoring/management technologies
- SNMP, Netflow, syslog, monitoring applications, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of DNS
- Prior experience particularly in the data center industry

It's important to note the pay range may be narrower than displayed, as various factors are used to determine the offered compensation package including skill set, level of experience, geographic locations, and other relevant factors- i.e. budgetary requirements. Pay Range $82,114.99- $123,172.49
