Full-time, Temporary Description
Counselors at Camp Red Cedar are responsible for ensuring the safety of campers during activities that promote fun and enrichment. They plan and lead both indoor and outdoor recreational activities while collaborating with staff and volunteers to provide a safe camping experience. Counselors assist campers with daily living skills, such as toileting and showering, and are trained on clients' Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavior Support Plans (BSP). They support campers with various activities, personal care, and mealtimes, including during two weeks of overnight camp. While following and adapting daily schedules based on camper needs, they implement basic water rescue skills and ensure horse and riding safety. Counselors interact with campers respectfully and communicate with parents about their child's experiences, completing daily documentation. Additionally, they are responsible for assisting in cleaning all facility areas used by the camp program and assisting with the annual event, Showdeo.
