JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox Enterprise Technology is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join the Fox Enterprise Infrastructure Operations team. This role requires expertise in VMWare, Active Directory (AD), DNS and DHCP, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies. The successful candidate will design, implement, maintain, and optimize our IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security for our enterprise systems. As an IT Senior Systems Engineer, your responsibilities include helping build and maintain a broad array of enterprise systems, applications, networks, and technologies. You will be tasked with gathering and documenting requirements for new and existing services. This person will work closely with the Fox Cyber Security, Enterprise Technology, and Project Management teams to ensure the delivery of critical business initiatives. You will work with members of the various Infrastructure teams on exciting projects and initiatives in a dynamic environment. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES System Administration, Maintenance, Monitoring and Troubleshooting
Manage and maintain VMWare environments, including ESXi hosts, vSphere clusters, and virtual machines. Oversee and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including user and group management, group policies, and domain controllers. Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices, security, and regulatory compliance. Installation, configuration, and ongoing support of servers and software within established standards and guidelines. Configure and troubleshoot DNS and DHCP services for optimal performance and reliability. Maintaining hardware inventory systems and Standard Operating Procedure documents. Work with Service Desk, Desktop Support, Networking, Telephony and Engineering as appropriate to determine and resolve problems and/or meet project objectives. Resolve basic network connectivity issues (wired and wireless). Provide support for remote locations for other Fox Business Units. Proactively monitor infrastructure performance and resolve issues before they impact business operations. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems related to VMWare, AD, DNS/DHCP, and VDI systems.
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
Maintain and Support the Horizon VDI environment. Optimize VDI performance and ensure seamless end-user experiences. Address issues related to VDI access, application delivery, and session management.
System Design and Implementation
Design and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performing IT infrastructure solutions. Evaluate and implement new technologies to meet evolving business needs. Develop and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Security and Compliance
Manage VMware NSX DFW to segment and isolate workloads within network zones. Implement and enforce security best practices across systems and infrastructure. Enforce company policies regarding security, privacy, and data loss prevention. Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to protect against vulnerabilities.
Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support IT initiatives and projects. Collaborate with team members, creating collective guidance and sharing best practices.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
AA/AS, BA/BS or equivalent in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Hands-on experience managing enterprise IT systems. Proficiency in VMWare technologies, including ESXi, vSphere, Aria, NSX and Horizon. Strong expertise in Active Directory, including GPOs, replication, and multi-domain environments. Microsoft Desktop Windows systems (Windows 10/11, MS Office, MS SQL etc.) Linux and CLI tools experience. Experience with LDAP, SAML, OIDC, and Okta MFA using Radius. Backup software (Veeam, Rubrik, Netbackup, Backup-Exec, etc) Diagnostic tools for computers, VMs and networks. Basic Networking Ethernet and TCP/IP skills (Routing, Switching, Segmentation, Firewalling etc.) Endpoint protection and Management tools (CrowdStrike NextGen AntiVirus, Microsoft SCCM, Desktop Authority, PDQ, Tanium). Solid knowledge of DNS and DHCP configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization. Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms, particularly VMware Horizon or AWS Workspaces. Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS preferred (GCP/Azure acceptable) Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python). Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously The ability to manage specific tasks as projects both independently and as directed by management. Ability to work in a changing environment while maintaining quality, productivity and professional demeanor. Exemplary collaboration and communication skills Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information Excellent client service delivery with a focus on the end-user experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $121,500.00-170,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
